RELEVANT WEB APPLICATIONS AND SITES

  • EveryTrail

This is an app/web application for interactive maps, photos, etc, for sharing with others.

  • Findery

This is an intersting app/web application for leaving tagged information at locations you visit. Seems it could be useful.

  • FourSquare

FourSquare is a location-based social network.

  • Glympse

This is a smartphone app that allows you to share your location with friends you trust with real time updates. Connects with Evernote.

  • Google Maps

I have started to use Google Maps a lot now for trip planning, website location maps at kevinswilderness.com and more.

  • GoPlanIt

GoPlanIt is a social network for planning holidays.

  • Munzee

Muzee is a global scavenger hunt game, with a smartphone app with which you scan the munzees you find and score points. You use GPS co-ordinates to locate munzees - a little like geocaching.

  • PlaceMe

This is a smartphone app that allows you to remember the places you visit and syncs the information to Evernote. It used to work well - but doesn't at the moment. I have used it a lot in the past.

  • Project Noah

Project Noah is a social community for documenting and sharing wildlife.
