I follow developments in the Russia-Ukraine War fairly closely—poring over daily battlefield analyses, tracking military updates, and monitoring international moves that either reinforce Ukraine or throw a lifeline to Moscow. In any conflict of this scale, media messaging is a battleground in its own right, and propaganda is blasted from every corner. Yet, if you look past the noise, three glaring realities stand out.

First is the curious amnesia of legacy media. Ukrainian advances and tactical successes often seem underreported or buried beneath headline cycles. Instead, major outlets frequently grant outsized oxygen to Russian "alternative facts," giving unearned weight to Kremlin talking points rather than grounding their coverage in what is actually happening in the trenches.

Second, what does emerge from Moscow has crossed the threshold from routine spin into full-blown deluded fantasy. Over recent months, official Russian claims have bordered on the downright absurd—from assertions that every incoming missile has been intercepted and is nothing but "falling debris," to bizarre tales of phantom victories. It is a spectacle of sheer delusion, made all the more infuriating by the fact that certain biased and compromised world leaders remain eager to swallow this nonsense whole.

Which brings us to the political circus in Washington. The betrayal of Ukraine by the Trump regime is as disgraceful as it is transparent. Trump continues to fawn over Vladimir Putin, seemingly transfixed by the prospect of geopolitical favours or financial lucre down the line.

More recently, as midterm elections loom, Trump has taken to publicly scapegoating President Zelenskyy and Ukraine for soaring pump prices, frantically demanding that Kyiv cease its deep strikes on Russian oil facilities. In a move as cynical as it is weak, he announced a deal to import Russian diesel—a pathetic drop in the bucket compared to American energy consumption, but a massive propaganda victory for his buddy in the Kremlin.

It is a blatantly obvious ploy to pander for votes under the guise of lowering fuel costs, all while actively propping up Putin’s war economy. That a cultish MAGA base continues to applaud this "orange clown" as he throws a sovereign democracy under the bus remains one of the most sobering sights of modern politics.

Here are some of the more realistic reports on the war and relevant stories concerning it:
